Good general tutorial on UV painting maps
Recently, I was trying to work in Paint.net with UV maps exported and using layers to paint the map. It was written for Photoshop, but seems to work well for other paint programs as well. Leroy. Link to site.

Re: Do material rectangles support alpha textures?
This one seems to work okay thx bro.FHembree wrote:Why not use copy and paste (using transparent background in paint program), directly to the texture. I know this makes it a permanent part of texture so you don't have
option of adjusting later, but it definitely would work.

Re: Do material rectangles support alpha textures?
I have both Paint.net and Gimp and both show the alpha part as a checkered pattern on tga renders out of TS modelside. I see the same with png renders as well. Does TS modelside not export alpha textures? PS: I use the X exporter to get models to 3d Exploration for conversion to Softimage XSI versio...

Re: Do material rectangles support alpha textures?
Sure it does. I just made a quck test with a PNG texture file and it works. I still see the background image when I apply the texture to the rectangle on the model. You do know what I mean about showing only the part I want right? How did you process the alpha texture to set the transparency part? ...

Do material rectangles support alpha textures?
I was trying to apply decals to my models, but still only see the entire rectangle on the model. Does TS support images using the alpha channel to make part of the image transparent showing only non alpha decals? Thx, Leroy.

Re: WelI learnd something... !
My thoughts are with you as well bro, Leroy. I have models spread over like 5 different PC's and staying organized is a bit of a challenge. I tend to organize models in custom object folders as well as scene libraries. I finally figured out how to set file sharing between systems as I mainly create ...

Models looking good. I would imagine with 3d printing a reality you could probrobly actually make an RC plane for real. Leroy.

Re: trueSpace 7.6x under Windows 10?
Thanks for the replies. I did try to rename the file default.cfg, let tS rebuild it. I did that but that did not help. I did do installs from the install files, not just copy over the trueSpace folder from my old PC. Draise, when you say, "Also install the unofficial updates. There is a Window...

Re: trueSpace 7.6x under Windows 10?
Did you try installing it using the compatibility settings for XP service pack 3? I had Win-10 installed briefly and really did not like the way it is configured compared to previous versions. My understanding is that 7.6x should run under win-10 but I really don't know for sure?
