Re: Any way to limit hyperthreading to less cores?
Run With Affinity def does work, but not sure about Mac,, I know Linux has the option I'm not sure if I would do that over any length of time, the electrician side of me concludes something heating up different areas isn't a good idea If you've had the laptop for awhile make sure the heat sink isn't...

Re: Daz Studio 4.5 Rigging
Carrara might be another option, dig around for back issues of 3D world and 3D Artist mags, both had the pro versions for free, probably easier than DAZ to learn and some good tuts It would be so cool if DAZ could take all the best qualities out of Bryce, Daz Studio, Carrara and Hexagon and make one...

I ran it on a 4 year old Intel dual core and it worked fine all be it a bit buggy but this was March so it should be a lot better. It is really quick about on par with Linux on the same machine, but ...

Re: Its been awhile
Hi Saul sorry I missed this; With frontal projection you can use it to project the background image onto a floor plane, here's an example: Image1.png It doesn't matter what angle the plane or object is at the material will always line up with the background In the below AO is rendered as a channel a...

I ran Win8 on a 4 year old Intel dual core laptop and didn't need any extra drivers etc, I usually use it as a render node and it was about 15% quicker than Vista and 10% Linux Mint, with Win8 the Render node was quicker than the server desktop running Vista which should be the faster system lol I j...
