It's sort of ironic to think that Caligari released Gamespace Lite to encourage people to upgraded to the full version of Gamespace, and then just pulled the plug out completely. I have a GSL serial number and I'll share it 1157845120831 as GSL is no longer available as a free download any more. I also have the installer as well. I can't seem to convert COB/SCN models to XSI properly. I use 3dex to convert COB to XSI format, but they never seem to convert well at all. 3dex supports both the binary and text COB format, but when I load converted XSI files the model is always distorted and quite horrble looking. Come to think of it a cube can also be rounded by adding a subdivision layer too.

If you right click the object to enter into the edit mode you can add vertices which can later be moved to extrude from that point. You can also use the polygon draw tool in the edit menu to add/draw on a hightlited face which can also be selected and moved to extrude/sweep it. BNG.

Try right clicking the cube icon, set the resolution to like 16, place the cube in the workspace, then select the cube, now right click the smooth quad divide icon and set the angle to like 180 and then left click the icon to apply the smooth quad divide tranform.
