As told, this comes from different world alignment. This has nothing to do with the axis. When Sketchup doesn`t provide a way to fix this while import then the only method is to rotate the stuff in trueSpace. Which is the solution, wich is what at least i have bothered with. the rectangle select won't work to export to OBJ via Luuv ;) Sure you can. Just glue the objects together after rectangle select. Then tick grouping in the LUUV plugin. That way you can export the whole selection too, and keep your subobjects intact ;) yes, I can rotate the items 90 degrees... but ...

trueSpace has another world alignment than Sketchup. That`s where it comes from. And when Sketchup doesn`t provide a way to compensate that while import then there is no other way i fear :) You can rectangle select in trueSpace Modeler by the way. What about you rotate the object instead. And in Sketchup you rotate it back

Finding a working Art pipeline is always a bit of a problem when it comes to games content. Not just in trueSpace. Hmm, Ultimate Unwrap could be a good choice for you. Not this expensive. It reads the Modeler X and the Workspace Collada and X from tS. And exports to a ton of formats including FBX, B...

Hard to say without having a look at the whole rig. In general, use as much Local IK handlers as possible. Avoid Global Locks and IK handlers. That`s what i do.
