Re: trueSpace to Flight Simulator tutorial

Would what you describe work for X-flight as well? I am guessing it would.

Re: doing a spring material

I would be pleased to hear what you find out. I've been looking around for physics or engineering simulators etc that would do this spring and reflex idea. It looks like I might have to pay for something? Some are $1000s so I won't get those. Just got my usual pc back after a motherboard problem, so...

Re: doing a spring material

Hey very impressive.

I'll experiment a bit.

Were you saying, more or less, that bending type of things can't be done in TS in real time and interactively (like in Activity)? In other words has to be like a scripted cartoon? If so this would mean I could not test a real world idea, right?

Re: doing a spring material

Thanks for your input. It seems that your sample didn't make it. Anyway, I have come to the conclusion the only way to do flexing things in most programmes is to make them up of segments. Makes sense. I had thought of doing a lot of subdividing. Doing animations with bones etc is all new to me. Than...

doing a spring material

Some of you guys may have catapulted a screwed up piece of paper with a steel ruler? Once done the ruler returns to its normal shape. Also a reed blowing in the wind bends over than returns to the upright position. How would I make an object like that in TS? Does it have to made up of segments or co...

do project in TS or Blender

How do you guys feel about whether I should use either TS or Blender for my project (model machine thingy using real life physics characteristics and scenarios and getting data feed)? The ability of TS to interact in real time is a prime reason for my interest in TS. Also TS seems to have a very wel...

Re: Truespace 7.6: Understanding Workspace/ Modeling Modes

So is the polygon line function only in the Model part. I can't see it in the Workspace part. I suppose it might be best to do a design in the Model part then play with it more in the Work Space part? I suppose it is only really complicated animations that might have trouble crossing the bridege? Wh...

Re: Doing scripts and plugins

Thanks for all this information. Now I'll concentrate on getting something ready to experiment with while looking at the dial and date stuff on the side. I am finding it a bit awkward to get going with doing objects. I ask something in another post. Once I get a couple of things clear I should be pr...

Re: Doing scripts and plugins

Thanks for the url. Couldn't find it via the Caligari home page. In regards to writing scripts etc from the manual I remember it saying that TS (via LE) can operate like a WYSISYG web page design progy where the coding is done for you. I have done intro programming (Pascal, C and Cobol) and have goo...

Doing scripts and plugins

Glancing through the script tutorials from the Caligari site it seems that I can do alot with just scripts. Could I set up digitial or analogue meters connected to certain objects which then tell me how fast something is going, how many rpm or how much force is being exerted when a certain event hap...
