Re: Short Term Plans

Nah, don't do that James. I really appreciate the offer though! I just missed one by $5. Persistence. Patience.

Re: Short Term Plans

Finis, at my age (rapidly approaching the three quarter century mark) I don't do any games except for some card games. I know what you mean. I don't get a "thrill of victory" or fun of participation with others from games anymore. Don't have any on my computer. I was trying to note in a joking way ...

Re: Short Term Plans

I'm interested in animation now so cranking out frames at high speed is good. Eevee and such are good but Iray, Cycles etc. still rule for some rendering. By American standards I'm poor so I shouldn't consider such a toy. Patience is free and I have a 1060 3gb. I do have all the irresponsibility and...

Re: Short Term Plans

I'm trying to get a used gtx 1070 ti in auctions on ebay. Occasionally one sells almost within my small budget. Almost. I'm not sure if my short term plan is to get one or is a medium term plan to wait a few months hoping prices will go down. Of note: used 1080 ti's look like better bargains if you ...

Re: 3D Artists Reporting Back

I have rejoined the primitive world. I have fire! I have taken a blazing hot shower. Soon it will be 80F or 85F in here thanks to my fire powered heater. I am eating eggs cooked with fire! The gas company reconnected me today.

Re: Finis' Experiments and Scribbles

oh btw: i saw this in tS too... Don't know about TS. My guess about the Eevee speed is like this: If frame "calculation" takes 200 secs and displaying it takes 1 sec then the "display" time is only 1/201 of the total time. If the calculation takes 1 sec and displaying it takes 1 sec then the displa...

Re: Finis' Experiments and Scribbles

I tried auctions on Ebay to get a used gtx 1080 ti. The bids always went far beyond my level. So now I'm trying for a used gtx 1070 ti. That's more sane spending for me anyway. No luck yet ... (checks item) approaching my limit. There will be others. Patience. Persistence. I noticed a lot of "to goo...

Re: Finis' Experiments and Scribbles

@Pugman Thank you sir. @Bitkar It gets cold here in Winter. 4400 ft (1341 m) elevation. Not European cold but most years there is a little snow. Mostly too dry for snow even when cold. @Rayman Everyone says he looks gay. Maybe the complete Jedi outfit and different mocap will look more manly. I've l...

Re: Finis' Experiments and Scribbles

Icicles on my house. Other house is neighbors. There is a lot that can go wrong You can say that again. Mocap gives you the natural movement but it can need tuning and fixing. In the future I'll rig characters in Blender using mocap friendly ways. Here is Jedi Tevu with a cloth simulation kilt. 3090...
