Re: 3D Artists Reporting Back

Not much activity here.

Jury duty today. I was chosen. Drunk driving. Guilty. Best jurors of all the trials I've been on. They really considered everything like they should. Two trials canceled. I wasn't picked for another. Four more to go.

Re: 3D Artists Reporting Back

Jury duty. I did not receive a jury calendar that tells when I must phone in to know if there is a trial. Today is the first day I might have to report. A court employee called and said the calendar was returned "not at this address". The address was correct. Postal service problem. Today's trial wa...

Re: City Ship

They both look good. The first has more of a sci fi tool look than a ship.

Re: Mix Pix From The Stix

@Spacekdet That ice boat looks cool. Good details too. How about some new CG?

@Bitkar I'd like to see more of your hikes and adventures.

Re: The staying power of Truespace is incredible!

That is possible too Bitkar. It could just crash or stop with some error. Asking for more RAM than exists is different than being unable to ask for RAM that does exist. Whether a program's own inability to store large addresses would activate VM is questionable. If the OS has a system to help 32 bit...

Re: Steinie's U3DA Game "What is it?"

Here's the hike/walk where I found it. link I don't know what this is so it isn't properly a What Is It game item. Fun so far with all the ideas. It is pressed and extruded steel sheet metal. Put together with screws. No welding. The straps are metal too but are not corroded. There is little rain he...

Re: The staying power of Truespace is incredible!

I think Rayman is writing about virtual memory. When a computer is out of RAM it starts using disk space as memory. Since a disk has much slower write/read everything gets very slow. So when VM is active a faster disk means less slow performance. 32 bits can store memory addresses for about 2GB. So ...

Re: Steinie's U3DA Game "What is it?"

Found this while hiking. It is about 16in (40.6cm) long. It was on a steep slope of mountain foot hills near an old barbed wire fence. I don't know what it is.
