Re: Need photography advice.
Hiking poles often have 1/4" X 20 screww attachments on the top of them, or they can be adapted quite easily (drill, glue, 1/4 x 20 insert or a bolt), than just a matter of a couple ropes and tent spikes. I do it often and is pretty good in a pinch... maybe not stable enough for star photograph...

Re: Modo or Blender
What version of Modo are you using? I upgraded to V6.01 from V4.01, it was a pretty good upgrade for me, decent character animation tools, the sculpting tools are a little better behaved (nothing like 3Dcoat, but they offer quick alternatives for touchup, cleanup of a model). The painting and multir...

Re: 3d printing
There are many different kits on the market right now that allow you to make parts and models, either from your drawings or for parts for machines. I still has a bit to go to get to the point where you can manufacture small scale from your house or garage, but the technology is getting closer all of...

Put the thing in the thing and got the thing wet. ... What is it you are paddling? Kayak? Canoe? rowing dory? based on the paddle, I am guessing kayak. I have been using mine all winter, it's a bit of a pain in the ice, but worth the effort for the exercise... not that I am in great shape by any me...

Re: FREE Unity Mobile Publishing!
Very good timing on this, thank you Dele. I was looking into an engine for an Android app I am thinking about, I could not find any info on a Unity version so UDK was the next idea. I'll play around in Unity now though thanks for the heads up and link.

Re: Modo 601 - what do you think?
This is from Rich Hurrley, a Pixar character TD and modeler. He is the most knowledgeable rigger in the Modo system right now. THe stuff he has been showing it pretty awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asy9g_Sk7l0&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL576AE4C8A4F404D7" onclick...

Re: Modo 601 - what do you think?
DanX- if you ask anyone that uses Modo about the modeler, you are going to get a very positive response, that and it's renderer are it's 2 strongest points. The sculpting tools are good for getting general form but ZBrush and 3DCoat are far better. It's painting tools are good, but ZBrush and 3DCoat...
