Dirty Techniques?
I would like to know ways to make a object with a dirty appearance, materials rectangles, alpha maps, etc? I really don't know much of it... And the dirty gives an extra realism!

Re: Dirty Techniques?
In my eye's it depends from what you want to get
Sometimes it is enough to work with one layer of a good created texture + bump map + good choosen shader. Sometimes the multilayer texture feature of tS is helpful - but here is the problem with other rendering engines they don't understand more than one layer. So mostly i use just one layer and invest a lot of time to create the textures. Also don't forget the lightning.

Re: Dirty Techniques?
Dirty texture shows natural wear of an object. Is a matter of observation. Each material acts differently with the bumps and hollows. reliefs of white marble can be dirty while the same relief of a bronze seems cleaner and brighter. The use of multiple layers can handle multiple materials on one surface with matte and shiny part. For color, it is a work of photo editing.
