Banding on reflective surface

Post by splinters »

Me again...

I just rendered out an image with a shiny car in it. Now everything is fine but the car has a clear banding on it. They run horizontal and parallel and are only where the car is. I can't for the life of me remember what causes this. I think I have HDRI on and I have rendered the same car before with no problems.

Any ideas what is causing this?

I had the same problem a few month ago. i suspect a bug with core duo. Not sure.
Try Scanline on the setting (i think this problem is with raycast)

Cheers Marcel, will try that. As it is with dual cores did you try turning hyperthreading off?

"hyperthreading off" can resolve the problem if you need raycast.

Just to get this straight, is this is a Lightworks issue?
