netframework 3.5 and Direct X
Should I install netframework 3.5? Does the install of truespace install direct X or do I need to install Direct X before I install Truespace. Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your first question about the Microsoft .net framework but I doubt that you would need to install it separately. If it is needed, I would expect to be included with the trueSpace installer.
As for DirectX, it is a requirement that your computer already have DirectX 9c or later installed on it before you install trueSpace. If it isn't present, you may still be able to install trueSpace but you'll have problems when you try to run it. DirectX is normally installed with your video driver because the video card in your computer is also required for it. As far as I know, it is not included with trueSpace.
Most computers come from the manufacturer with DirectX preinstalled. If you've added an aftermarket video card to your computer, then DirectX should have come with it. About the only time that DirectX is not preinstalled is if your computer does not support it. Computers that use integrated graphics on their motherboards and computers with cheap graphics cards are the ones that would not support or have DirectX.
DirectX version 9c is what you will need for Windows XP. Version 10 is used with Windows Vista. And version 11 is used with the upcoming Windows 7 (note: I've been hearing of some incompatibilities of trueSpace with some AMD/ATI video cards under Windows 7 even if they have DirectX --- an nVidia card may be a safer choice for Windows 7).

You could run dxdiag.exe from Start->Run... to see what version of DirectX you already have installed. If it's not 9.0c or higher, you'd want to check at Microsoft's site, not nvidia.
