Powerful Tools of Truespace

Post by LeonRegis »

List here in a list of 1ª to 5ª that you think is the most powerful tools in Truespace
It have two objectives one it's to discover new tools that someone haven't knowledge and read here then search and discover that was a amazing tool and the other is to someone who wants to see the tutorials know which see first to take the max...

Hope you understand.

I'll not post because I don't have knowledge enough so this will be like a lesson to me too :D

1. Mirror model. I used to spend sooo much time either manually moving every individual vertex or slicing something in half, making a copy, mirroring the copy then making bevels to intersect with a boolean join, then deleting edges to get rid of the v-groove. With Mirror model it's quick and easy, though it does have some quirks and problems, for most uses it's excellently perfect.

2. Add face. This one took a long, long time to come. tS had *delete face* way back in version 2.x, but the ability to *add* faces to fill holes in non-solid models wasn't added until (IIRC) 5.x Along with this tool came the ability to do quite a lot of things with non-solid models. Earlier versions can hardly do anything with non-solids.

3. Add edge and add vertex. Plonk in edges between vertices or between a vertex and anywhere on an edge. Poke in a new vertex anywhere on any edge. Makes it easy to manually triangulate a face to get the exact surface you want. Much simpler than how I figured out how to do that in 3.2, which involved beveling the face then carefully deleting edges on the bevel until the remaining edges snapped into place. The unfortunate bug with Add edge is it allows the user to make new edges *through the middle of a solid object*, which for some reason often wipes the undo buffer, then getting rid of that edge is a pain. SAVE YOUR SCENE OFTEN! (Which has always been the "hair saver" mantra of trueSpace users.) Always always SAVE before poking the Triangulate button because that always wipes the Undo.

I agree with you!

About the HDRI can anyone explain their potential?
