SDS and Booleans in WS and MS

Post by LeonRegis »

Just to know... The SDS and Booleans operations in the Model Side are significantly bad compared with the Workspace? I'm making that question because in a scene I'll just do things in the models side because of the Motion Studio and textures...
Another question... that has nothing to do with this subject but I'll take advantage of this post. I need to put the clothes before or after the skeleton? What is a good way to do cloth for a character?

after the skeleton ! But in T pose !
You will want to make your clothing also in T pose !
For cloth to work you want to enable physics..... but be prepared for a large workload for TS.
If you stay on the model side you will want to use the cloth plugin for modelside if you´ve got that.
For Workspace side the clothdynamic from workspace side.

Thanks peter I'll start the clothing using the physics as you said... The only thing that I cannot understand is ''T Poser'' what or who is that? Sorry for my naivety...

Many Thanks

It is the default pose for most models. Bodies straight up and down arms held out, like a "T"

Hmmm, the model is already in T pose I made him in this pose ^^
After make the skeleton I can't go back to workspace side... so I'll need to do the cloth before!

Thanks

Well I´m pretty anxious to see that animation with the clothing because up till now I´ve only seen flags and nets etc. done with
the clothsimulation inside Truespace.
The T pose is as said the default pose.......
I do my clothing animations inside Poser and it takes only 10 minutes to make.... and i use a 5 year old version 5 which is am round for a few dollars
in the net.....
Leonregis its not going to be easy because you need to run physics on all objects that touch the cloth.
Here is the animation I did for you...... i think its ok for the time I spent...
You have to click on the image to make it run..

First I need to do the cloth... ^^
Many thanks RAYMAN, just to know... In TS I need to do the physics simulation in every single frame or of 10 out 10?
I'll do that animation next week maybe I need to finish to ongoing WIPs ;) And I'll use your tips in that WIP, will be static but maybe I could do some Animations, I think that I need to enter in this world :T

Many Thanks, great Animation...

No you run the physics simulation as soon as you applied the physical attributes and it runs automatically
for as long as you let it run. But keyframing your rigged character with physics simulation isnt fun....
Up to date I have not seen any characters with dynamic clothing in the forums..... if you find some I have overlooked them..

Many RAYMAN for all your help... Finishing the thread.
I'll use dynamic clothes in static images. When I gain experience in animation I'll do some animations with dynamic clothes

Thanks for all!
