My first live model with Sculptris : the Megalocerosaure.
It is a mixture of deer and dinosaur. This lack of precision because the drawing with a mouse is not easy. It would be better to use a tablet : I would find my gestures of sculptor of the past. This is just the beginning and I will look for a purchase.
I think this software is very simple. Only imagination and the ability is used. This is a good thing for creators who have no technical constraints. I do not like modeling with spheres which produces potatoes. It seems more sensible to do a simple shape on a modeler and use it as the basis of Sculptris. But everyone works as he like.

I'm not clear on your statement. Are you saying that Sculptris is too simple and needs better tools or are you saying because of it's simplicity Sculptris allows the user to be creative?
I'm pretty sure you meant the second.
You don't own a tablet?

The second.
I think there is a lot of artists who don't like to learn tech a lot. A good thing because we can have zbrush. No need to have two similar softs.

I agree! Some users of Sculptris complain about no upgrades being done. My feeling is there is no need to add. Keep it basic. If you draw with a pencil there is no need for airbrush, compressors, halogen lighting, a studio facing north, $50 sable brushes etc. etc.
The real talent is who is holding the pencil.
Beautiful model by the way.

Nice work there Marcel. i also love sculptris but i always was thinking what zbrush would
be like so i got it and do not regret it, when you sculpt in sculptris sometimes you need thet
little something more a brush or something else. With zbrush its now a end to end app good for everything
somtimes to much but cool .
as for Steinie he has found the perect app for his brillient cartoon work .
like you are the true master of truespace.

Re: The word of dinosaure 2.0
Thank Pugman.
I do not have the time and inclination to learn zbrush, in the same way that I've never used the TS workspace. Once I was on top of technology and I did not create much. Today I have tools, simple and complementary, and I am interested only in creation. There are so many great programs that the danger (for me) is to spend all my time studying. After some years (40 years of using computers !), it can be frustrated because you will never be at the top. I passed this hurdle since a long time (this reasoning is valid only for me. We are all different).
First update made with the Intuos 5. The hardware is very precise and it is a pleasure to work with it.
