Had a little time and wanted to refresh my TS workspace modeling so I did this, some kind of farm tractor equipment.
Attached is an image and also a wire frame. I have gotten to where I really like modeling in workspace side of TS.
Rendering was done using YafaRay.
Don't really want to enter this for the challenge, just wanted to do some quick modeling.

Re: Equipment Farm
Looks good. Especially for a quickie. Why not enter in the challenge? No problem. It's good to see a non-challenge project too. People used to do more of those.

Re: Equipment Farm
I love modeling in the WS. If I don't really get the hang of SI, I will probably go back to my modeling in TS with some things in Blender (smooth operator, etc). Good work! Motivates me, now that I finished work for today and tomorrow a little before festivities.

Re: Equipment Farm
I felt like I needed to add a few finishing touches so that it looks finished.
I experimented with blender at beginning of this year but the more I learned about modeling in TS workspace side
the more I liked it better than blender. As long as what you are modeling is not very large TS works
better for me; easier to use and no shortcuts to remember. Also you see the model in real time as you are
modeling with the proper shading and shadows.

Re: Equipment Farm
Imported my TS Tractor object into Daz Studio 4.9 rendered it using IRay.
Purchased a new video card for my computer, (a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 TI) so that allowed me
enough graphics power to use IRay in Das Studio. Must admit I'm kinda lost trying to understand
Daz Studio. I Got the card from Best buy, a PNY version and I did't do a lot of research before buying, but
card seems to work fine. The ad said it did not need a power connector, but it turned out it
did (was not a problem), and I think because the ad I saw was showing a EVGA version, but one they sold me was a PNY
version. Both have dual fans and look identical as best I can tell and they only required a 3 watt
power supply which I have.
I think IRay renderer is impressive and Studio has lots of pre-made materials.

I used Daz and Iray a lot and I'll be happy to help you with it.

Real good. Throw in a more 'righteous' background and its a fine job.

Re: Equipment Farm
Experimenting a little more with IRay and testing importing file from TS. I imported this scene from truespace that I exported using the obj exporter and
it looks like the textures exported fine as long as they had a bitmap included as part of the textures. The original textures in truespace were yafaRay textures and
the file imported correctly into DazStudio without any problems. It was very easy and straight forward. It makes things a little easier if you name scenee objects in TS before exporting
so you can find them in Studio using the named scene items, if you want to modify the textures using IRay.

Re: Equipment Farm
that first (trueSpace) render is spot on... it just looks like a real toy :) very nice toy-like object too...
